God of War’s Playable Mimir Mod Is Absolute Nightmare Fuel

February 22, 2022

If you’re looking for something to keep you up at night, search no further than this horrific looking mod of Mimir from God of War.

New and interesting mods are starting to become a lot more popular now that the Santa Monica title, God of War, is released on PC. Naturally, this leaves the game open as a sandbox to creative types who love nothing more than seeing what they can do with its characters.

Recently we saw that fans of the game could play as Atreus which allows players to take on the boy in a new action-packed mod where he gets a piece of the action for himself.

Not wanting to stop there Speclizer, who is known for their incredible out of bounds videos that focus on The Last of Us 2, brings Mimir to life in their newest mod but it really doesn’t go to plan.

Mimir, also known as the smartest man alive or simply as ‘head’ to Kratos, is the Norse God of Knowledge and Wisdom, and an ally of Kratos and Atreus in God of War (2018). Imprisoned and tortured by Odin for 109 years, Kratos then beheads him, sets him free and then carries his head on their journey to Jötunheim where Mimir advises them both.

In Speclizer’s new mod, Mimir can be seen floating around aimlessly. Without a body or facial animations, this particular mod is truly the stuff of nightmares and what exactly is Kratos’ axe doing? Unless he uses some kind of magic to kill his enemies, Mimir’s best chance for survival is scaring his foes to death. And looking at this short clip, it could possibly work!

Hopefully, Speclizer could make some magical improvements to this mod to allow Mimir his best chance in God of War‘s unforbidden world but either way, you can’t deny that Mimir does look pretty badass, even if a little terrifying.
