God of War: Listen to the Devs Talk About Runes, Magic, Atreus and More

Listen to Cory Barlog and Matt Sophos from Sony Santa Monica Studios as they talk about setting and magic in God of War for PS4.

September 7, 2017

Sony Interactive Entertainment and SCE Santa Monica Studios launched an official podcast for the upcoming God of War game.

The first episode is already out, and it stars Creative Director Cory Barlog and Story Lead Matt Sophos as they talk about their title currently in development.

Specifically, this episode is about runes, language and magic, but we hear quite a lot of interesting details about the setting and Kratos’ son, Atreus.

It’s certainly a great way to spend half a hour, and the setting of the game sounds really, really interesting and intriguing. You can check it out below.

If you want to see more about the game (unfortunately, while the podcast is in video form, it shows no footage), you can enjoy some recent new artwork, a second batch, and a third one. You can also take a gander at the fantastic gameplay trailer from E3 2017, and a batch of beautiful 4K screenshots.

God of War will release in early 2018 exclusively for PS4.
