wiToday Sony Interactive Entertainment and SCE Santa Monica Studios released a new trailer for the upcoming God of War game.

The trailer actually shows no gameplay, but it's still very interesting, as it tells more of the background behind the game.

We hear the story of Thamur, a giant stone mason intent on building a massive wall to protect Jotunheim, but after a quarrel with his son he ends up lost in Midgard, where he ends up fighting Thor. The clash results in Thamur falling to the ground and driving his own stake through his own skull. His death changed the landscape of Midgard forever.

It's certainly an interesting story, and we'll have to wait and see exactly how it'll tie into that of the upcoming game. In the meanwhile, you can enjoy the epic trailer below.
