Today Kadokawa Games released a batch of new artwork and screenshots of its upcoming game God Wars: Future Past.

The images showcase the "Eight Million Gods" that will appear in the game, designed by Takeyasu Sawaki, known for having directed El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, and for his work on the character design of Okami.

The Eight Million Gods (Yaoyorozu no Kami in Japanese) are a basic concept of the Shinto religion, based on the idea that there are a myriad of Gods  in nature, inhabiting all kinds of places and objects, with different personalities and dispositions towards good and evil.

We get to see the artwork by Sawaki-san himself, featuring the Wind God, the Deer God, the White Snake God, the Boar God, the Thunder God and the Fox of Tsudzarao.

Those gods will serve as enemies in the game, and we also see several 1080p screenshots showcasing them in battle.

You can check out the inages below and If you want to see more, you can enjoy the first character trailer with English voices, the second one, the latest video from the Japanese version, a few more recent screenshots, and some details on the class system.

Incidentally, Takeyasu Sawaki is also working on directing The Lost Child, still under Kadokawa Games' umbrella. It's linked to El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, and you can watch the original teaser trailera second gameplay trailer, and a few screenshots and info.
