Bandai Namco has announced during The Game Awards 2014 that their formerly Japanese exclusive Godzilla game is heading to Western audiences on both Playstation 3 and Playstation 4.

Developed by Natsume Atari, Godzilla puts players in control of the destructive titular creature to wreak a massive amount of havoc across different cities and environments. Players must battle to collect G-Energy to power-up Godzilla, granting him an increase in offensive and defensive capabilities to battle classic enemies such as Mothra, King Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla. The game will include multiple different game modes, including a mission mode that will feature more than 20 different stages.

“Godzilla has had a long history and is one of Japan’s most famous pop culture exports that have entertained millions of people for generations in the West.” said Chris Gilbert, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Bandai Namco Games America Inc. in an official statement. “We’re excited to continue this great history by bringing the Godzilla videogame for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 to excited fans. Let the countdown to monstrous destruction and epic battles begin!”

Godzilla will release on PS3 and PS4 in the summer of 2015.
