Earthbound-like RPG Golf Story Now Available on Nintendo Switch; Launch Trailer Released
Time to hit the green and socialize in Sidebar Games' Golf Story, which is now available exclusively on Nintendo Switch alongside a spanking new launch trailer.
Australian developer Sidebar Games’ new and debut game, Golf Story, is now available, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
First announced back in May, Golf Story appeared relatively out of nowhere, but quickly won the anticipation of many Switch owners for its Earthbound vibes, uniquely mixed with a golf game.
In the game, you play as a golfer (obviously) who has been forced to give up all he holds dear for one final shot at accomplishing his dream of being a golf champion. But modern golf isn’t golf of the past: you have to not only keep up with competitors on the green, but off it.
The game notably boasts eight unique enviroments, each with its own courses, townspeople, and secrets to discover. As you play, you will be able to upgrade your golfer by completing challenges, solving puzzles, and buying new golfing equipment, all while interacting with a diverse cast of characters.
Beyond just the thrills of golf, players can also participate in longer driver tournaments, mini-golf, disc golf, and wee links, as well as compete in extra challenges like races, mowing, geocaching, and of course, drone fights.
Golf Story is available for $14.99 USD. Below, you can check out a new, official launch trailer which accompanied the release.
