Goodbye Real Life: Minecraft Heading to iOS, Android Devices

PC gamers’ favorite indie behomoth, Minecraft, is just about to make the full transition into becoming your full, only life, as Gamasutra reports that it’s currently being ported to iOS and Android devices for release later this year. Not much is known about the portable versions yet, except that it won’t receive the same updates as the PC version, only those that “make sense” on a touch-screen interface.

I’ll admit, I’ve fallen out of the Minecraft craze a bit, but it’s one of those games where when you pick it back up again, there’s always another overambitious task you want to accomplish that’ll own your soul for a couple weeks. Having it on my smartphone will make it harder for me to pull away from the madness.

I’m very afraid.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
