If you haven't heard the word, Stadia is out today. Hooray, I guess. While Google's game-streaming service has released almost as silently as a fart in the night, they sure did decide to try sell the product to consumers on launch day in perhaps the most bizarre way ever.

Google released a launch trailer for Stadia today, but the trailer in question is likely nothing that you'd ever expect. While the video does showcase the general idea behind what Stadia does, it comes off more like a Tim & Eric sketch than it does an actual viable piece of marketing. Comedian and musician Reggie Watts is also prominently featured in the ad because sure, why not.

When Watts isn't trying to talk about the benefits of Stadia in the commercial, he's riding inside of a canoe-shaped man, shooting electricity out of his hands, and driving a golf kart at the speed of light. The trailer doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but then again, releasing Stadia in its current, half-baked form doesn't seem to make much sense either.

Cynicism aside, our review for Google Stadia did actually go live recently and we didn't find the platform to be all that bad. While it's lacking a lot of features at launch, in our experience, the game-streaming tech that is at the center of the product does work as intended. Still, our final verdict on the platform, for now, is that we recommend you maybe wait a bit longer before potentially jumping in for yourself.

Anyway, if you'd like to watch the asinine launch trailer for Stadia, you can find it below. Have fun.
