Gotham Knights is only a week away from launch, and recently, the Steam page of the game was updated with the minimum system requirements for the PC version, which does look heftier than what we would have expected.

According to Steam, players will need an Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti or an AMD Radeon RX 590 paired with an Intel Core i5-9600 or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 to be able to run the game at 60 frames-per-second with 1080p resolution and Low preset. Of course, it doesn't mean a weaker system wouldn't be able to run the game, but you will either need to switch to 30fps or run the game at a lower resolution to keep the frame rate at its highest.

In addition to the above, the game requires 8 GB of RAM as well as 45 GB of free space on your hard drive or SSD. Unfortunately, the developer has not revealed the recommended system requirements for the game so far, but that would be quite interesting to see how much power the game requires for 60fps at the highest preset and 4K resolution.

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-9600K (3.7 GHz) OR AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.60 GHz)
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti OR AMD Radeon RX 590
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 45 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: 1080p / 60fps / Low Quality Settings

While we can't judge with only the system requirements, a hefty minimum system for running the game could make fans worry about the optimization of Gotham Knights on PC, especially after the disappointing experience of Batman Arkham Knight that ruined the game for PC players with a messy port. Of course, Gotham Knights is not developed by the same studio as Arkham Knight, but surely PC fans don't want the same level of optimization again.

While Gotham Knights does look beautiful in the trailers, the recent gameplay footage shows a significant visual downgrade when compared to earlier gameplay videos of the game. That being said, the minimum system requirement might assure fans that the game still targets a high bar in graphics. After all, the PC version of the game is expected to be the most superior version when it comes to visuals.

That being said, regarding the fact that the game uses a Denuvo lock, we can expect a barrier in front of high-spec PCs in running the game at high frame rates.
