Gran Turismo 5 Sales Updated to 7.3 Millions

Polyphony Digital recently updated the Gran Turismo series sales figures on it’s official website, displaying Gran Turismo 5 sales as 7.3 million units in just over a year, an extremely solid showing for a PS3 exclusive that also happens to be part of a niche genre.

This labels Gran Turismo 5 as the best selling racing simulator this generation and, as someone that played and is still playing the hell out of it, it’s not hard for me to see why.

Europe is by far the leading market for the game, with 4,590,000 units sold, summing up to the 63% of the total. We do love our cars and our PS3s around here, no doubt about it.

Lifetime sales of the Gran Turismo  franchise have also been updated to 64,770,000. Well played, Polyphony. Well played.
