For those who have been playing Gran Turismo 7 for a while, they might be well aware of the fact that the game is online only. A number of games have this feature, and this is by far one of the most controversial aspects in video games. It pretty much makes your game useless if you do not have good access to the internet, which speaks volumes about the fact why people dislike it so much.

Gran Turismo 7 (GT7) Server Down & Maintenance Explained

A big update was slated to release yesterday, and maintenance was scheduled along with that. This was supposed to last an hour until things went south. Unfortunately, the update had an error due to which the maintenance was extended. The official Twitter handle tweeted “Due to an issue found in Update 1.07, we will be extending the Server Maintenance period.”

Now it's been almost a day since this was announced, but the game's servers still remain down. Now servers in games have been down for a while earlier, we have rarely seen it extending to almost a day. What makes it worse is the fact that you cannot play the game unless the servers are up, thanks to the online-only feature the game has. This has attracted a lot of criticism from the community.

If we look at it, if the game wasn't online-only, the developers could have still got a pass. Surely, maintenance of almost a day is very rare, but still, players could play something or the other during that period. As of now, there is no update from the developers, so we are not really sure when this will be back up.
