Gran Turismo Sport Has a “Paint Surface Simulator” Reproducing Realistic Paint Coats on Cars

During the PlayStation E3 2016 Livecast currently being aired, Gran Turismo Sport Producer Kazunori Yamauchi mentioned a few interesting details about the upcoming game.

Yamauchi-san explained that the colors of the cars have been reproduced exactly as they are in real life, from manufacturer specs. It’s “extremely difficult” to achieve that kind of realism. The game  actually includes a “paint surface simulator” that reproduces the fact that there is a base coat, a mica or metallic coat over it, and then a clear coat on top.

we also heard that all the tracks and cars have been completely redone for the game, and it was a lot of work. Because of that, the quality is “extremely high,” and Yamauchi-san can finally see in front of his eyes the Gran Turismo he always wanted to make.
