Cygames' upcoming Granblue Fantasy fighting game tie-in Granblue Fantasy Versus is set to launch on February 6, 2020, in Japan. Alongside news of a release date, Cygames also revealed a ton of new information about various gameplay systems and modes that'll be included in the game.  You can check out a ton of new screenshots down below.

Granblue Fantasy Versus will include an original story in the form of RPG Mode, it's set in the same universe as the mobile title. Additionally, players will be able to use various RPG mechanics similar to that of the mobile title. You can check out the full synopsis of the story mode below:

"GBVS introduces a brand new story featuring your favorite Granblue Fantasy characters. Chaos has befallen the Sky Realm, leaving Gran with no choice but to fight against his former allies. In order for him to identify the source of the growing havoc and save his comrades, the airship Grandcypher takes flight once again into uncharted skies."

Granblue Fantasy Versus will include battle mechanics that blend RPG and fighting game elements. Fans will be able to face off against giant bosses as well as waves of general monsters. The game will allow you to team up with another player through local or online co-op, or you can opt for an AI partner in battle.

According to the game's official websiteGranblue Fantasy Versus will include a comprehensive weapon system that's directly adapted from Granblue Fantasy. Players will have access to an elemental grid system on their weapons as well as two unique skills that they can mix and match to change the tide of battle. Furthermore, weapon skins can be changed in both RPG Mode as well as Versus Mode.

Arcade Mode, Versus Mode, and Free Training are pretty self-explanatory if you're a fan of fighting games. Arcade Mode will allow you to take on multiple opponents with a final boss to top it all off, difficulties can be adjusted based on player preference. Versus Mode will allow for standard matches between AI opponents or local players. Free Training lets players hone their skills and change multiple settings to test out different play styles and matchups.

Mission Training is also included. It'll let players take on various challenges to learn the ins and outs of every character as well as counters to different characters. This mode is tailored around helping newcomers learn the basic combos and various mechanics. Lastly, online will offer both ranked and unranked matches. Players will be able to join lobbies with up to 64 players to interact with and challenge. Private rooms are also available for friends.

For those who are unfamiliar with the Granblue universe, Cygames will also be including a library and gallery. This area of the game will have stories that'll get players up to speed with the mobile game's plot. Additionally, art and music from series will be included for viewing and listening.
