Granblue Fantasy Versus is Coming Out on the Day Final Fantasy VII Remake Was Supposed To

Granblue Fantasy Versus from XSEED, Cygames and Arc System Works will release for PS4 on March 3.

Even though we’ve known that Granblue Fantasy Versus for PS4 was coming westward for quite some time, XSEED, Cygames, and Arc System Works have been tight-lipped regarding a release date. This is likely to avoid having to publicly delay the game, a mentality they are also applying to Granblue Fantasy Relink. That being said, it was finally revealed today that Granblue Fantasy Versus will be coming out on March 3.

Granblue Fantasy Versus coming out on that day will fill a major void in the west left by Final Fantasy VII Remake. Fans expected that highly anticipated remake, which just got a new trailer, to come out on that date for almost half a year, but Square Enix pushed it back to April 10 at the last minute. Now, if you’re looking for a fun Japanese game to kick off the busy Spring gaming season with, Granblue Fantasy Versus seems like a great choice.

XSEED also used today’s announcement to go confirm that players will get a download code for the mobile and web browser versions of Granblue Fantasy no matter what version of Versus you get. That includes the snazzy premium edition that was unveiled back in November. Some new screenshots for the game were also released, so you can check those out below:

Granblue Fantasy Versus will release for PS4 in Japan on February 6 and will subsequently come out in the west on March 3. You can pre-order the game on Amazon. If you want to learn more about the game, you can check out our interview with the developers from E3 2019.
