Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that support for Gravity Rush 2's online functionality will come to end on January 19, 2018, a year and one day after its release.

More specifically, the servers will close on January 19 at 2 p.m. JST. With the end of online functionality, you will no longer be able to send and receive challenges, browse leaderboards, receive or post treasure clues, recieve or post photo ghosts, or receive Dusty tokens or obtain rewards from them.

To make up this unfortunate news, Sony has said that starting on September 28 at 2 p.m. JST the amount of Dusty Tokens acquired will be increased. This change will be in effect until the end of the online services support. What this also means is that players should try and unlock the talismans and costumes before January 19, because after that, you won't be able to get them.

Sony, who has a bit of history of prematurely ending support for online functionality, has not provided a reason for the discontinuation at the moment of writing this.

Gravity Rush 2 is available exclusively on PS4, both at retail and digitally. If you haven't already, be sure to peep our review of it, where we awarded it a prestigious 9.5 out of 10.
