After Shawn Layden confirmed that PlayStation Experience would not be happening this year on PlayStation Blogcast, Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller took matters into his own hands and took to Twitter to ask game developers and publishers to be part of a Kinda Funny Games Showcase. Turns out, plenty of companies wanted to get in on this.

After Miller put up the tweet yesterday afternoon, developers like Housemarque and Team Meat as well as publishers Devolver Digital and Annapurna Interactive all sent replies saying they were interested. A few other companies like AbleGamers, Ysbryd Games and Kitfox Games also said they were interested in joining in. A few hours later, Miller tweeted a picture of his inbox, again, insinuating that there are plenty of developers and publishers that want to show off some games with the Kinda Funny crew.

How it will be presented is slightly unclear. Miller wrote a follow-up tweet stating that it will be trailers or developer diaries stitched together. When Twitter user Warpeddart13 asked if it would be like a Nintendo Direct or like Kinda Funny’s morning show where “the garbage truck can still catch fire,” Miller replied, “Somewhere in between.”

The Kinda Funny Games Showcase is set for December 8, 2018, the night after the Game Awards. There is still no official confirmation of this showcase even happening but many developers and publishers have taken Miller up on the offer.

UPDATE: Originally, it was reported that there was no official confirmation for the Kinda Funny Games Showcase. We have just been told that the showcase is definitely happening.
