Those waiting for a release window for Nomada Studio and Devolver Digital's upcoming title Gris will be happy to know that their patience has paid off and they will be able to get their hands on the visually stunning indie title for Nintendo Switch and PC before the year is out.

Originally announced back in August, Gris is a 2D platformer with a unique water-colour art-style. Gentle in appearance, the game centres around a girl named Gris who's currently going through a time of emotional turmoil. As the game progresses we'll get to see Gris growing and gaining a new perspective on life.

Gris' dress represents her emotions. this can be seen throughout the trailer as the garment changes from fluidly flowing behind her to expanding into a protective block to fend off the harsh nature of her environments. The game will feature a number of platforming passages, puzzles, and abilities that will allow Gris to access new areas.

The beautifully animated gameplay trailer shows Gris traversing bizarre landscapes lit up by smooth colouring, propelling herself upwards to gain higher ground on thinly structured temples, and swimming for safety as she is pursued by an enormous dark eel.

The sweeping Gris is booked for release on Nintendo Switch and PC on December 13, 2018.
