There have been rumors indicating a Steam release for GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition for a few weeks now. Currently, these three titles are available on PC via the Rockstar Games Launcher, and the original titles are not on Steam as Rockstar Games removed the original trilogy back in 2021, prior to the launch of The Definitive Edition.

Rockstar had handed the development process of the classic GTA games to Grove Street Games, a studio that specialized in developing mobile titles. Due to the ample amount of bugs and technical issues, the video game giant had to halt sales 24 hours after launch.

Rockstar then took the reins of the post-development process and shared a series of updates in the following months. The developer's efforts to offer a more stable experience across the remastered titles proved useful as the title sold more than 10 million units in the span of four months. Now, a year after the initial launch, the troubled trilogy could be heading to Steam.

Recent changes made in three apps could be indicating a release preparation from Rockstar. The rumors have been pointing towards this notion for some time now, which is quite likely considering that it has been a full year since the games made their debut on Rockstar Games Store.

The recently spotted data also reveals updates made by the developers. Those who are curious about the data can visit SteamDB and see the development changes and comments, which list all three games in the remastered trilogy. It is possible to see the dates of the latest changes made on the app named "GTA 3 Definitive," on November 11. Along with GTA III - The Definitive Edition, it is also possible to see other listings and updates made for the apps named "GTA San Andreas Definitive" and "GTA Vice City Definitive" on the database.

An official announcement on the release of the GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition on Steam has yet to be made from Rockstar Games, so take these details with a pinch of salt for the time being.
