Guess Who Doesn't Enjoy Dead Space 2? YO MOMMA

…at least, that’s what EA is going for with their new marketing campaign for Dead Space 2. Your Mom Hates Dead Space 2 isn’t some awesome new Tumblr blog; no, it’s an actual, real EA-owned site featuring commercials in which reactions are shown from helpless mothers watching in-game footage from the gruesome new sequel.

Now, I don’t object to watching charming, innocent older women being subjected to things they may or may not enjoy, and I understand that any publicity is good publicity for a video game, but this just reeks of the lowest common denominator. It seems like a slap in the face to other companies working in the video gaming industry that are trying so hard to make video games a legitimate artform in the public’s eye. Thanks, EA.

Dead Space 2 will be available on the PC, PS3 and 360 on January 25th.
