Arc System Works announced Guilty Gear Strive servers will be down for maintenance on June 22, which will hopefully fix some of the game's issues.

Guilty Gear Strive - Online server maintenance schedule

The maintenance is scheduled to start at 4 AM EST, last at least until 5 AM EST, and might be extended. Click here for a table conversion to other time zones. Needless to say, playing online will be impossible till the maintenance has ended. Note that several players are currently experiencing trouble getting online as I'm writing this, and it's possible the maintenance work was started early.

Patch notes - will Arc System Works fix the boot time problem?

Arc System Works explained on Twitter that the maintenance will "make adjustments to the server equipment". Further patch notes should be published once the maintenance has ended. It's possible the servers will be buffed, as Guilty Gear Strive is incredibly popular, having already sold 300,000 units worldwide.

One notorious issue among Guilty Gear Strive players is how the game takes forever to boot and start up, even when you're playing offline. The reason is, when launching Guilty Gear Strive, the game first communicates with the server. This server communication can take several minutes. So just launching the game feels like a chore.

Guilty Gear Strive is available on PS4, PS5, and Steam. The worldwide simultaneous release on all platforms, and the incredible netcode overall greatly contributed to its current popularity; It's by far the most mainstream Guilty Gear game there ever was.

Arc System Works already published a roadmap schedule for the upcoming DLC characters. Most notably revealing the first character coming in July will be a brand new character who was never playable in the series yet. Many fans are expecting new villain Happy Chaos, or longtime villain That Man / Asuka, to join the playable roster.
