Gundam Battle Operation NEXT For PS4 and PS3 Revealed; Beta and 1080p Screenshots Suddenly Released (UPDATED)

on April 30, 2015 12:18 AM

Bandai Namco just released on the Japanese PSN the beta client of Gundam Battle Operation NEXT, a free-to-play multiplayer action game that lets players pilot popular mobile suits from various Gundam series in pitched matches.

The game isn’t only focused on combat, but also on tactical operations including the capture of bases and relay points, requiring collaboration and teamwork. Flight is also supported.

The funny thing is that the game was never even announced. It has simply been dropped on the PSN with no previous notice, surprising everyone.

The PS4 beta client can be found here, while the PS3 one is here. As usual, you need a Japanese PSN account to get them, and you can find a handy guide on how to make one here.

The beta will run only until May 3rd, so if you wanna try it out, you may want to hurry. The client is quite light, weighing only 750 megabytes on PS3 and 836 megabytes on PS4.

Update: a few hours after the surprising release of the beta, Bandai Namco finally opened an official website, and released the teaser trailer below, which includes what we saw during Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia Press Conference in 2013, indicating that this is the Gundam game teased back then.
