PS4 Exclusive Gundam Versus' Open Beta Announced

If you want to try Gundam Versus on PS4 before you buy it, you'll get a chance to.

July 21, 2017

Today Bandai Namco Entertainment America announced that the upcoming Gundam game Gundam Versus will get an open beta.

The beta will happen in the lead-up to the game’s launch but no further information has been provided on exact dates. We did get a mention via press release that more information will come soon.

In addition to the beta, we get a look at the pre-order bonuses coming with the game, including the following mobile suits: BN-876 ß Hot Scramble Gundam, ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus and GN-005 Gundam Virtue. You can see those in the image at the bottom of the post.

The game was recently released in Japan, proving quite successful sales-wise, topping the Media Create charts and the local PS4 download charts in its debut week. That shouldn’t prove too surprising, considering that the Gundam Vs. franchise has always been very popular in Japan, especially in the arcades.

Incidentally, the game is already receiving some rather sizable updates for its Japanese version, and if you want to see more, you can check out a trailer showing off its rather comprehensive game modes, the announcement trailer for the west, and one revealing its 94 mobile suits.

Why Ratchet & Clank is the Most Important PS5 Game

Gundam Versus will release in North America on September 29th, exclusively for PS4.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
