After first coming to PC, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game has slowly been making its way to all the platforms. The free-to-play game came to PS4 and Xbox One late last year, and now it is coming to iOS. The game will officially launch on October 29, but CD Projekt Red has opened up a closed beta today.

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is based on the popular mini-game from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game is a very solid alternative to Hearthstone since release. Bringing the game to mobile has always felt like a no-brainer. The beta is available across most relatively recent Apple devices. CD Projekt Red announced the beta will support "iPhone 6S or newer, iPad Mini 4 and newer, iPad 5th generation and newer, iPad Air 2 and newer, and all iPad Pro devices." So, for the most part, you should be able to hop in if you're interested.

Know that the beta is limited, meaning that, if you want in, you should sign up quickly. Requests will be processed as they come in, so putting your name down early is the best way to ensure you get in. For the beta, the team has locked any real money purchases on iOS. However, your progress from PC does carry over, so you could buy something there and then use it in the beta. Progress earned in the beta will not be wiped, so you can play to your heart's content without needing to worry about it all going away.

Unfortunately for Android users like myself, they have not included Android devices in this release. That said, there is an option at the bottom of the registration page to sign up for a newsletter about an Android announcement. So, it seems likely that the game will be coming to the other side of mobile gaming very soon.

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will be out on iOS on October 29. The game is currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Note, however, that only the PC version lets you carry over progress to iOS.
