We've been hearing murmurings about a Half-Life VR game for years at this point. Valve has talked openly for a long time about how it has been developing games for VR, and soon enough, it seems like we could finally see one of those projects getting revealed. In a new series of rumors, it is said that Valve is going to reveal Half-Life: Alyx this coming month at The Game Awards 2019. The rumor stems from a supposed leaked conversation The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley and Valve employees regarding the upcoming announcement.

This rumor ties back to another from YouTube channel Valve News Network last month which also reported that Half-Life: Alyx was coming and would be announced soon. Tyler McVicker, the one who runs Valve News Network, originally stated that this VR title would release before the end of 2019, but new rumors claim the game is now on track to launch in 2020. The game will also supposedly put you in the shoes of Alyx Vance and will take place in between Half-Life and Half-Life 2.

There's a lot of nebulous information being detailed here, so it's worth noting that you likely shouldn't put much stock in it just yet. That said, Valve developing a Half-Life game for VR isn't all that shocking. With the company's new Valve Index headset available for purchase, Valve likely needs some exclusive titles to help the platform gain more traction compared to competitors like Oculus and Vive.

As they say, where there's smoke, there's usually fire. Because of this, a Half-Life VR game definitely seems likely, but then again, this property and the hopes of a new installment has burned many fans for years. Regardless of what ends up happening, we'll know for certain whether Half-Life: Alyx is set to be revealed come December 12 when The Game Awards take place.
