After beginning public testing just a few weeks back, the PC iteration of Halo 2: Anniversary is finally joining The Master Chief Collection in only a few short days.343 Industries announced this afternoon that Halo 2: Anniversary will be added to the larger package of The Master Chief Collection on PC next week on May 12. This is the third addition to MCC on PC, following the launch of Halo: Reach back in late 2019 and then March's add-on of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. Halo 3 will chronologically be the next game in the series that then heads to PC, but no timetable for this installment's release has yet been given by 343.

In the grand scheme of the Halo saga, Halo 2 still stands as one of the most popular entries in the series and might very well provide a major boost to the game's player totals on PC. Despite being released in a piecemeal fashion, The Master Chief Collection on the platform has already proven to be a pretty major success for 343 and Microsoft as the game sold over 2 million copies alone on Steam at launch.
