343 Industries has done a great job consistently updating Halo 5: Guardians' multiplayer with free content, with the latest drop being Infinity's Armory in late January. Now the February update has a name: Hammer Storm. The developer promises new weapons, game modes, a new map, REQs, and miscellaneous game updates.

Hammer Storm will be reintroducing Assault and Grifball modes to Halo 5's competitive multiplayer. Thanks to custom game options you can also create Oddball, Fiesta Slayer, and Ricochet matches. Torque is the new map and all we have is a teaser image of a space station in the gallery below.

Two new armor sets will be released: Decimator and Marauder. A gravity hammer REQ card will bring the melee weapon back to multiplayer in Warzone.

Colors for your Spartan are being overhauled as well,

  • Expanded the color palette for armor and emblems from 32 to 60 colors
  • Replaced the emblem harmonies with simple, primary, secondary and tertiary color options
  • These new options have no restrictions – you can make any 2 of them the same color and get a completely different looking emblem shape
  • These new colors carry over to Waypoint as well

A new permanent social playlist will be offered in place of the weekend playlists we have been seeing since launch. Beginning this week Social CTF will be the featured playlist for those looking to drop in and out of multiplayer. Weekend playlists won't be going away entirely, but will only appear for special events, such as this weekend's Valentines playlist.

Lastly 343 shares two new photos of the Warthog vehicle that will be available in Rocket League when the game launches February 17 on Xbox One.
