Halo Waypoint has announced a new string of Halo 5 tournaments that will be happening all across the United States, Puerto Rico, and some locations in Australia, beginning in the month of August and ending in October. The official Halo Twitter posted this announcement:

Players will have the opportunity to get some free Gold REQ packs. Those who place in the top three at their locations will receive a free Platinum REQ pack.

Every month, five participants will have the opportunity to win a free limited edition Xbox One controller, and one lucky winner who participates in every tournament will have the chance to win a brand new Xbox One X.

This does not mean you need to be at all locations, that'd be ridiculous. In August the first set of tournaments will be free-for-all only, in September it'll be two on two matches, and in October they'll be hosting four v. fours.

If you'd like to enter one of these tournaments you can check if a Microsoft store location near you will be hosting one. You can find the full list of participating stores right here.

In other Halo 5 news, earlier this month 343 announced that Halo 5 would be getting 4K upgrades through the power of the Xbox One X.

Halo 5 is available now exclusively on the Xbox One.
