Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary PC Release Seems to be Coming Soon

It seems as though a release date for the second game in Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC could be announced quite soon.

343 Industries kickstarted Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s arrival on PC last year when it released Halo: Reach, the first game in the series chronologically. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary was then planned to be the second game in the series that made its way to PC, but news on when the original entry in the series would be arriving hadn’t been made clear. As of now, though, it seems word on the game’s release date could be coming quite soon.

Via the official Halo YouTube channel, 343 Industries today released a brief teaser video that is seeming to indicate that Combat Evolved will soon be joining The Master Chief Collection for PC users. The trailer is only about a minute long and features Master Chief sitting in his stasis pod, which is what he emerges from at the beginning of Combat Evolved. The video then ends showing the symbol for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary as the game’s image in The Master Chief Collection becomes illuminated.

While there is no release date included in the video or its description, this clearly seems to indicate that Halo: Combat Evolved is soon going to arrive on PC. In all likelihood, I’d expect that an official announcement will come in the very near future from the team over at 343 Industries, perhaps as soon as this week. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the game itself is rolled out to PC users by the end of this week. That’s just conjecture on my part, but this whole process could definitely be expedited. Combat Evolved has already been in a testing flight phase on PC for awhile now, after all.

We’ll keep you posted here on DualShockers once we hear more officially from 343 Industries about Combat Evolved’s addition to The Master Chief Collection for PC. Until then, Reach remains the only game in the larger collection that is out right now on PC. Meanwhile, the whole Halo saga is available for play on Xbox One if you’d prefer to experience it over there.
