Halo Infinite New Release Date Hasn’t Yet Been Decided On Internally by 343 Industries
Halo Infinite is set to release at some point in 2021, but 343's community lead says the studio still hasn't decided on a new launch date themselves just yet.
It’s not uncommon for studios and publishers to have internal release dates planned upon far before they are ever divulged to the general public. Oftentimes, these rough internal release dates give developers certain goals to work towards in the pursuit of getting the game out the door. In the case of Halo Infinite, though, it doesn’t seem as though 343 Industries has even internally decided upon a new launch date just yet.
Following the delay of Halo Infinite into 2021 last month, many have been trying to figure out just when the highly-anticipated shooter might now release. As such, speculation has gotten a bit out of hand in some corners of the internet. To shoot down any such release dates that have “leaked” with the past few days or weeks, 343’s Community Director Brian Jarrard recently took to Twitter to say that not even the studio has decided upon a new launch date at this moment in time.
“We haven’t locked on [a] release date for Halo Infinite yet,” Jarrard said plainly. “Anything you see on a retail site is just placeholder/speculation.” It was a simple message from Jarrard, but one that lets us know that we shouldn’t believe any dates that may have popped up in recent days on the web.
PSA: We haven’t locked on release date for Halo Infinite yet. Anything you see on a retail site is just placeholder / speculation.

Based on my own conjecture, I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Halo Infinite doesn’t end up arriving until the back-half of next year. Given the fact that Microsoft and 343 Industries were comfortable with pushing the game past its coinciding launch with the Xbox Series X, which seemed to be vital for the next-gen console’s release, there really seems to be no hard date in which the publisher would need the game to now arrive. Plus, if Infinite was due out at any time in early 2021, you would assume that 343 Industries would already have a new internal launch date set in stone. The fact that they still don’t makes me believe it might be quite awhile until we finally get our hands on this entry in the long-running series.
Whenever Halo Infinite does end up releasing, it will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
