It has taken over two years, but we're finally just one week away from seeing the first gameplay footage from the highly-anticipated release of Halo Infinite. Ahead of that time, Xbox today released a new teaser for the game, even though there isn't much to glean from it.Over on the official Xbox Twitter account this morning, a new GIF was shared from Halo Infinite which briefly shows off the iconic call number associated with the franchise's main character, Master Chief. The GIF shows what seems to be some sort of welding torch emblazoning the number "117" onto Master Chief's armor. Xbox posted the brief teaser alongside the caption, "Your legend makes it more than just a number."

Again, there's not a whole lot to be taken from this other than the fact that it's just cool and exciting. This is the second such teaser that 343 Industries and Xbox have released in recent weeks, with another short video having been released around the end of June.

While there is no new gameplay to be shown in this new GIF that was posted to Twitter, 343 did recently confirm what we'll be seeing of Halo Infinite next week during the Xbox Series X event. Specifically, we're set to see footage from the campaign of Halo Infinite during this presentation. Multiplayer, while it will still be present in the game, doesn't seem slated to debut here just yet and will instead be shown later on.

Halo Infinite is set to launch later this year alongside Microsoft's next-gen console the Xbox Series X. The game will also be coming to Xbox One and PC, too. Stay tuned as we'll be getting a whole lot more information on Infinite in only one week's time.
