Watch Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s Major August Update In Action

on August 29, 2018 4:00 PM

This past Monday 343 Industries released a major update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection that touched on everything from language options to how the post-game lobby system works. In the edited video I play through some of the features the August 2018 update has touched on and give small commentary for each one.

Whil

e the multiplayer matches are improved due to the lobby system carrying over players from one game into the next, I still ran into some networking issues with a player lagging and blinking elsewhere on the map while trying to (badly) shoot them. Unfortunately I do not have an Xbox One X so there is no 4K HDR footage that was made possible by the August 2018 update. What I am able to touch on is the new main menu splash screen, how to view ping times, use custom installation, what playlists are currently available, and load times for both finding and playing a match as well as swapping graphics during a level from Halo 2: Anniversary. You can view the video below, as well as a purely gameplay video below that one.
