May 19, 2022

Paramount Plus recently released Episode 9 of Halo Season 1, which serves as the final episode of the season. After watching the ultimate finale, fans wonder if the military science fiction series will get a season 2. Well, here’s everything we know about the show’s renewal.

Developed by Kyle Killen and Steven Kane, Halo is a popular Tv show based on a video game franchise of the same name. The show stars Pablo Schreiber in the leading role as Master Chief, who, without a doubt, has done a remarkable job in the first season. In terms of the story, the show makes some bold choices. For instance, we see Master Chief taking off his helmet in the first episode. Also, we see John falling in love with Makee, a character that we haven’t seen in the game.

Of course, the first season of Halo didn’t land well with some fans for diverting away too much from the video games. So, it’s no wonder that the first season is sitting at a user rating of 52% with over 2600+ votes on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it’s hard to deny the fact that several viewers love Paramount’s Halo for its refreshing take.

Halo Season 2 is Confirmed by Paramount

Halo is one of the most ambitious projects of Paramount Plus, and it should come as no surprise that the studio has confirmed a second season of the science fiction series. ViacomCBS renewed the show for another season during a presentation in February 2022 (Via: Deadline). The creators announced season 2 even before the premiere of Season 1, so it’s clear that the network has faith in Halo’s live-action adaptation.

Along with Season 2, Paramount also confirmed that Steven Kane would leave the show after season 1. David Weiner, who has previously worked on Brave New World, will serve as the showrunner for the upcoming season.

In the past, we’ve seen several video game adaptations getting scrapped after not living up to the fans’ expectations. So, the renewal of Halo for a second season is definitely good news for the community. However, there’s no official release window for season 2 yet. Since the announcement came earlier this year, we can only assume that season 2 is already in production. So, if everything goes well, we can get Halo back on our screens sometime in 2023.
