We've seen a lot of Halo 2 Anniversary in Halo: The Master Chief Collection for Xbox One, but 343 Industries hasn't shown much of the remastered versions of the other chapters of the series.

I actually saw the remastered version of Halo 3 at Gamescom, but it was showcased behind closed doors, so I couldn't show it to you guys. Luckily the video was finally publicly broadcasted during a panel at PAX Prime.

So, without further ado, here's your first glimpse on a work-in-progress version of Halo 3 running on Xbox One in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Remember that it's recorded from a livestream, so there's a lot of compression artifacts involved and it's not running at 60 frames per second like the original video PAX attendees got to see. It'll look a lot better on your Xbox One. I've seen it run at full resolution and frame rate and boy, it's really spectacular.

Yet, it's definitely enough to see that the game looks great, especially thanks to the changes made to the lighting engine, the shadows and vegetation. Check it out just below.
