The Halo series has reached far and wide when it comes to expanding the series' epic lore into different games, books, and more, with the upcoming RTS sequel Halo Wars 2 about to expand it further with the game's upcoming release in February and its officially completed development.343 Industries' studio head Dan Ayoub announced that Halo Wars 2 has officially gone gold, meaning that the title has officially completed its development and is now being prepared for mass distribution and circulation ahead of its release in late February.Alongside a celebratory photo from Ayoub and the team at 343 Industries, developer Creative Assembly also got in with the celebrations with a photo of the staff after completing the long-awaited strategy games, which is one of the most anticipated titles coming early in the year for both Xbox One and PC. Though the picture was separate from the photo taken by the team at 343 Industries, Ayoub shared in a subsequent tweet that Creative Assembly has been "our partners and deserve a ton of credit" with the studio having "side by side since the start" of the game's development.Halo Wars 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the original Halo Wars, which released on Xbox 360 in 2009 and for Xbox One/PC late last year.Halo Wars 2 will release for Xbox One and PC on February 21st, 2017.
