Harada Elaborates on Combat System Plans for Tekken X Street Fighter

Last week Tekken X Street Fighter producer Katsuhiro Harada dropped a tiny hint about the combat system that would appear in the upcoming fighter. He confirmed that he’d be testing out a six button control scheme for the game, which is remarkable because all of the main Tekken games released to date have utilized a four button control scheme.

This prompted the question; Will this six button system be used for all characters in the game or just the Street Fighter characters? Harada took to Twitter, of course, to answer.

According to Harada’s tweet, this six button system is intended only for the Street Fighter characters. He clarified that the Tekken characters would indeed still be controlled with a four button control scheme. This is a very interesting development. Won’t the SF characters have an advantage over the Tekken characters with those two additional buttons? I mean, they’ll already have their freaking fireballs. I doubt that the developers would risk making the Street Fighter characters outright better than the characters from their own beloved franchise, so I’m not to concerned.
