Hogwarts Legacy, a Harry Potter RPG, Revealed For PS5, Xbox, and PC

Harry Potter RPG Hogwarts Legacy (a previously leaked project) has finally been confirmed, coming to PS5, Xbox Series X, and more consoles in 2021.

In a surprise reveal, the previously-leaked Harry Potter RPG was announced at the PlayStation PS5 Showcase moments ago. Titled Hogwarts Legacy, the game will be coming out on current-gen and next-gen consoles -- specifically the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X -- sometime in 2021.

The trailer (seen below) highlights an RPG format to the game, where players will get to create their own Wizard and craft their own journey through Hogwartz. Worth noting, the PlayStation PS5 Showcase noted that all footage was captured using a PS5 -- so everything you can see here is what you will expect.

Publisher WB Interactive Entertainment describes the game as follows:

Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world first introduced in the Harry Potter books. Now you can take control of the action and be at the center of your own adventure in the wizarding world. Embark on a journey through familiar and new locations as you explore and discover fantastic beasts, customize your character and craft potions, master spell casting, upgrade talents, and become the wizard you want to be.

Experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. You have received a late acceptance to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and soon discover that you are no ordinary student: you possess an unusual ability to perceive and master Ancient Magic. Only you can decide if you will protect this secret for the good of all, or yield to the temptation of more sinister magic.

Discover the feeling of living at Hogwarts as you make allies, battle Dark wizards, and ultimately decide the fate of the wizarding world. Your legacy is what you make of it.

For those with a strong memory, you might remember that this game originally leaked with a trailer that circulated last year. There were even rumors floating around that it would be coming to DC FanDome.

Little else is known about Hogwarts Legacy; as mentioned above, the game is expected to release in 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. Keep an eye on DualShockers for more information.
