A Hat in Time was a creative rendition of what 3D platformers used to be and the developers over at Gears for Breakfast will be tugging on some nostalgia heartstrings in their upcoming DLC content Seal the Deal.

In the add-on, you will be able to play in a 240p resolution mode titled the 'nostalgia badge' that will remind players of the golden age of 3D platformers where plumbers and bears ruled over all of the gaming ecosystem. The new feature will also be using the same pixel blur technique used on the Nintendo 64 to give an even more authentic experience. Additionally, it was stated that this will all be able to occur with a toggle of a button. You can see an example of what this will look like below.

I love when developers pull the nostalgia card. It might be a cheap move, but boy do I always adore it. The 'Deja Vu' mission in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes was incredible alone just because I got to look like a low poly version of Snake once again.

A Hat in Time is currently available on PC, PS4, Xbox One and will be releasing soon on the Nintendo Switch. You can check out DualShockers' review of the game, as well as a screenshot of the Nostalgia Badge below:
