The Last of Us fans get another look at what's happening in the development of the HBO series.

Recently, there's been plenty of some behind the scenes images from HBO's production on The Last of Us show. From new images of Pedro Pascal as he got into the character of the beloved Joel on the Candian set to Ellie and Tess as they all walked around the post-apocalyptic streets.

As much as we all want to see every aspect of what is going on and really not wanting to wait until sometime next year to watch the series, these types of images have been a godsend to Last of Us fans who are dying to get a sneak peek behind the development.

If you were wondering what the dreaded Cordyceps fungus would look like in the HBO show, one Reddit user has posted the gruesome image for us all to see.

Redditor u/willdearborn- showcased the behind the scenes images of the Cordyceps fungus growth as it poured out of a building, covering the door. As you can see, Pedro Pascal (Joel) is standing in front of it holding a gun with Ellie and Tess as the brain virus creeps its way around the structure.

If you're not too sure what the Cordyceps Fungus is all about, let me briefly explain it. In The Last of Us, a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus began to spread in the United States in late September 2013 and in only a few short months, took hold of around 60% of people by killing or infecting them.

Due to the fungus being airborne, it travels inside the lungs of its victims and then to their brain which then causes them to lose brain function, rendering them hyper-aggressive and incapable of reason or rational thought. Not too pleasant at all!

Although we don’t have a firm release date for HBO’s The Last of Us, we do know that it should showcase next year at some stage. In the meantime, I’m sure fans will be treated to plenty more of these behind the scenes images and videos.
