December 8, 2014

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, the digital collectible card game based on the Warcraft universe, has received its first expansion today called Goblins vs Gnomes. The expansion brings over 120 news cards into the game – including a new minion type in Mechs – as players explore the long-standing rivalry between the Goblins and Gnomes of Azeroth.

To celebrate the expansion’s release and give players a taste of the brand new cards they can collect, any user that logs into Hearthstone between now December 19th will receive three free Goblins vs Gnomes card packs. Potentially adding 15 unique cards to you collection will surely give it a boost, especially considering you are saving 300 gold or a little more than $4 with the promotion. Goblins vs Gnomes card packs are priced the same as the Expert packs that launched with the Hearthstone, allowing you to purchase them with in-game gold, real-world currency or by earning them as a reward in the Arena. You can also craft your favorite cards in the set using Arcane Dust that is collected from disenchanting cards in your collection.

Goblins vs Gnomes throws a big wrench into the Hearthstone works,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment in an official statement. “Players are already having a blast coming up with inventive new strategies and deck ideas—we’re looking forward to seeing what happens now that they can put those plans into action.”

Goblins vs Gnomes is available now in the Americas region for Windows, Mac, and iPad®, and will be available starting tomorrow on December 9th for the Europe and Asia regions.
