Rejoice, Soulcalibur II fans - the decade of arguments over which of the original game's console-exclusive characters was best will seem like a thing of the past.

After being originally announced this summer, Namco-Bandai has revealed more details on its upcoming Soulcalibur II HD Online, a remaster of its classic PS2/GameCube/Xbox fighter that will also include online multiplayer for Xbox 360 and PS3. As fans of the original game remember, each version of the game came with its own console-exclusive character; Heihachi on PS2, Spawn on Xbox, and Link on GameCube. Today  though, Namco-Bandai have now confirmed that Spawn and Heihachi will be joining the fight on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Soulcalibur II HD Online.

Unfortunately that means it looks like The Hero of Time is sitting this one out, although it's not exactly unexpected since the remaster will not be making an appearance on Wii U (at this time, at least). But, Spawn and Heihachi getting to duke it out, one-on-one? I'm there.

Soulcalibur II HD Online releases this fall for Xbox 360 and PS3.
