Sega have announced Hello Kitty will be joining Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania in the form of paid DLC.

As if Sega hadn’t already given us enough reasons to be excited about this game; Classic Sonic and Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog, Beat from Jet Set Radio and Kiryu Kazuma from the Yakuza series will all be unlockable in-game.

Hello Kitty will be joining the paid DLC characters which includes Morgana from Persona 5 and Classic Sega Consoles including a literal Dreamcast, Saturn and Game Gear.

Other DLC which is viewable on the eShop page includes:

  • Customization Pack ($4.99/£3.99)
  • Classic Soundtrack ($4.99/£3.99)
  • SEGA Legends Pack ($4.99/£3.99)
  • Classic Character Pack ($4.99/£3.99)

If you sign up for the Sega newsletter- here- you can also receive a code to unlock a Headwear pack.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania is an enhanced remaster of the Gamecube classics Super Monkey Ball and Super Monkey Ball 2 as well as Super Monkey Ball Deluxe on PS2 and Xbox. It is being developed by Yakuza studio Ryu Ga Gotoku for Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

It is clear Sega have been looking at all their licenses when deciding which characters should be getting into the ball. This game is shaping up to be Sega All Stars: Monkey Ball Edition and I for one cannot wait. Who do you think will be getting into the ball next?
