In a new interview with French magazine Premiere, Henry Cavill discusses The Witcher and how he was living and breathing The Witcher universe.

"I discovered the games, then I discovered the books, and the universe of The Witcher instantly meant something to me," says Cavill via a translation of the interview on Reddit. "I often thought about playing Geralt. When the opportunity appeared, I didn't let the chance pass me. I asked my agent to meet Lauren as soon as possible... I didn't even have the need to prepare myself for the role. Because I breathe, I live this universe every day. I already got numerous opportunities to think about this character while I was playing the games. My preparation was already made before the casting started."

Lauren Schmidt, the showrunner for The Witcher series, also mentions how the show is more of an adaptation of the book series rather than the games. Additionally, Schmidt says the show will between the different novels and short stories set in the universe.

The Witcher premieres on Netflix later this year. If you're looking for more Witcher content, The Witcher 3 releases on Nintendo Switch tomorrow. In addition, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, which recently entered closed beta, launches on iOS October 29.
