The first two places aren’t very surprising, considering that Metal Gear Solid and Yakuza are extremely popular in Japan. A western first person shooter in third position is definitely less usual, and probably a sign of the changing times and of how western-centric the initial line-up is.
Western games also occupy fourth, fifth and sixth position until we find Dynasty Warriors 8: Extreme Legends and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. It’s actually quite interesting to see Square Enix’s successful MMORPG this high in the list, considering that PS3 players can upgrade to the PS4 version for free.
The absence of Knack from the list is unsurprising, as it was given for free with every PS4 of the first batch, while inFAMOUS: Second Son still hasn’t been made available for pre-order.
