Map size in Dying Light 2

Before the game was released, months ago, the developers of the game shared tons of information on their upcoming project. During those times, the devs released a video titled, Dying Light 2 - Ask Me Anything where the developers answered the most asked questions.

In the first video of the series, the lead game designer, Tymon Smektała said the map size in Dying Light 2 is nearly around seven square kilometres. In comparison to the previous title, the map is significantly larger and the devs have ensured to add more elements to it to enhance the action and gaming experience.

Below is the video for the first episode of the talk, take a look at it. Also, do visit the official YouTube channel of the game to find more information on the game.

We assume the map to be twice the size of the map in Dying Light 1. In this video, Tymon adds: “But that’s a simple answer which doesn’t take into account the verticality of the world. So just imagine there are hundreds of buildings, and each one of them has at least a couple of floors. There are even Skyscrapers, there are roofs, bridges, all of that stuff. So you can imagine how big the actual space you’ll be playing in is.”

In addition, players can expect new places, landmarks and elements of surprise in the new map. Also, a day-night cycle is introduced to make things more interesting and provide a better gaming experience.
