Here’s What Final Fantasy Looks Like on the iPhone

Take a look at the video below, this is the trailer Square-Enix just released that showcases Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II for the iPhone.  Sure, the text is still in Japanese, but doesn’t is look amazing?  Some things have been slightly altered for touch control, such as the menu text being a bit larger and the touch directional pad you’ll see near the end.  If this plays as well as it looks, it is definitely going to be a must-buy for me when it finally gets released to the U.S. app store.  This was a good call on the part of Squeenix, because it looks like the iconic RPGs will transfer very well over to this touch-based platform.

I’d love to have these for my trip out east next month, but somehow I doubt the games will be available on our iTunes Store by then, although rumor has it the localization team at Squeenix is working a lot faster these days…
