Heroes of Ruin Announced by SquareEnix for the 3DS

Let’s ruin some heroes, shall we? Oh, wait, that’s not how it’s supposed to go? Too bad. Today SquareEnix announced a new dungeon-crawler RPG for the 3DS, generically titled Heroes of Ruin. It’s developed by n-Space, and focuses rather heavily on loot and co-op. Just think of it as a handheld Diablo or Torchlight and you’ll be good.

The game will feature heavy use of StreetPass and SpotPass to be able to trade and acquire items from other players as you’re passing them. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that this game featured true online play, but rather just local co-op. Epic fail! But, hey, the game looks good, so it’s certainly worth a shot. Expect some more news about this title during E3, where it will be available to check out on the show floor. We have some of the first screens available for the game, as well, which you can check out after the cut.
