Hideki Kamiya “Looking at Opportunities” to Make Bayonetta 3
PlatinumGames Director Hideki Kamiya was asked during an interview if he would like to work on Bayonetta 3 once Scalebound releases on Xbox One and Windows 10 in 2017.
Speaking to Polygon, he bluntly answered yes and that there have been internal discussions with the team already, but they still need a publisher.
To answer your question straightly, yes. It’s actually something I’ve been thinking a lot about. We’ve talked a lot about it internally at the company and I’ve written some outlines for what the game would be. And I feel really confident it would be cool if we got the chance to make it. Right now, we’re looking at opportunities… If that opportunity ever came up to make Bayonetta 3, that would be really, really cool.
Speaking in a separate interview with Metro, Kamiya said he has spent a lot of time thinking about what Bayonetta 3 could be, as well as Okami 2.
No, but I’ve spent a lot of time thinking in my head what [Bayonetta 3] would be. I’ve got ideas in my head for Okami 2 as well.
Kamiya directed Bayonetta which released in 2009 and worked on the script for Bayonetta 2 which released in 2014 for the Wii U exclusively. He is currently the director for Scalebound which is being published by Microsoft Studios.
