Tales Producer Hideo Baba was interviewed during Anime 2014 located in the Netherlands, which took place June 13-15th. During the convention there was a Q&A where fans could ask questions about the current Tales of series such as Tales of Heart R and Tales of Xillia 2.

One of the questions that was asked pertained to what platform he planned on releasing Tales Of games right now and this is what he had to say:

First, I have chosen the hardware that allows as many people, not only in Japan, but in the world to play as possible. And you ask why, some may want to play the Tales of Series but do not play them because they don't have the hardware, which ends up taking more money from the software rather than making money, and that is because they have to buy the hardware to play it. We hope to continue to create an environment where everyone can enjoy it, and I wanted to avoid the situation as much as possible, by putting it on hardware that has a firm base.

As for his thoughts on releasing a Tales game for the Wii U this is what he had to say:

There are no plans to put it on the Wii U console in the future, but nothing is impossible.

With the recent increase in Wii U sales the future may not be so distant.
