Hideo Kojima Shares Death Stranding Trailer Shots With and Without Texture; Mads Mikkelsen Looks "So Precious"

Industry icon Hideo Kojima-san shared some shots of Death Stranding‘s latest trailer with and without texture on his Twitter account earlier today.

Featuring background shots to the entrance of the tunnel that Guillermo del Toro’s character comes across, as well as another look at a devious Mads Mikkelsen (to which Kojima-san calls “so precious” and who was actually surprised by how good he looks in military gear), each shot is running on Guerrilla Games’ Decima engine.

More shots of Kojima Production’s meeting room were shared as well. Called the “Glass Room” by Kojima-san during a panel at PlayStation Experience 2016 earlier this month, its purpose is to test how accurate the lighting model is. Observations on reflections and how lighting works help push the engine forward.

The aforementioned background shots from the teaser trailer contain lighting and texture, whereas the Mads Mikkelsen shot contains only lighting. Hideo Kojima-san’s Tweets and the images he shared today can be found in the gallery below.
