During your adventure through space in Squanch Games' High On Life, you'll encounter a few story moments where you use a warp disc to briefly create a new section of the map. However, the friendly chef, who is a black market dealer, Blorto, will sell you a few unique warp discs.

Using these discs at any warp location will give you a fun distraction; the trick is finding a spot to use them and obtaining the warp crystals Blorto wants. However, both of these tasks can end up being far easier than they sound.

Blorto's Shop

First things first, Blorto can always be found in Blim City, just up the road from your house. He's just near the large diner with multiple TVs, but if you need a little extra help in which way he is, whenever you're in the vicinity, he'll call out to you. Blorto may or may not sell food, as his chef stand is a front for black market warp discs.

Up until this point, and the rest of the game onward, you've been using pesos to buy everything. However, Blorto will only accept warp crystals as payment for his warp discs. As for the warp discs he has to sell you, there's a total of six:

  • Cutie Town
  • Movie Theater
  • Skate Park
  • Trolley Tracks
  • Toilet
  • Quiet Cottage

You'll need 31 warp crystals to buy every warp disc. The Toilet and the Trolley Tracks are both worth 5, Quiet Cottage is the most expensive at 10, Skate Park costs 8 crystals, and the Movie Theater is incredibly cheap at only 3, but it's not the cheapest as Cutie Town costs 0 crystals. You may as well pick it up the first time you enter this store.

There's an achievement tied to these warp discs called Seeing All The Sights. As the achievement states, you don't just need to buy all the discs — you will have to use them on a warp spot and go to them. What may sound vague is that the achievement only says to explore each area, and while that is fundamentally true, you have to do the related challenges. Some are barely a challenge, such as a movie theater where you just have to hear the first few lines of dialogue from the cameo characters of the cast of the YouTube channel Redlettermedia, while some will take time, such as the Toilet, where you have to solve a pipe puzzle. A few of these locations even have secret Luglox chests that aren't counted in your portal selection screen but will count towards the achievement for all Luglox being opened, Luglox Genocide.

Finding Warp Crystals

High On Life Upper Falls Incoming Enemy Warp Base

Now, back to finding the crystals to buy these discs. Every time an enemy warp base warps in, there will be a warp crystal at the top of the biggest station. After you have killed every single enemy that spawned in, the protective dome guarding the crystal will disappear, and you can grab it for yourself.

High On Life Enemy Warp Base With Warp Crystal Player Can Take

Just like Luglox, uncollected warp crystals will appear as a blue dot on your radar when you are close enough. Pay attention each time in the story when you are ambushed by a warp base, as that's a crystal you should pick up, which also means 1 less that you have to try and farm later. If you would like to farm crystals, that's easy. Whenever you use the portal select door in your home, and enter an area you select, you reset that area, which means enemy warp bases will also reset. Look for places where bases spawn close by the portal door, such as Jungle Clearing in Zephyr Paradise.

Where To Place A Warp Disc

High On Life Upper Valley Entrance Portal With Warp Location On Mountain

There's an icon on the portal selection screen that tells you which area has a place to use a warp disc, and it ends up being only two. These locations are Upper Valley in Zephyr Paradise and Outskirts in Port Terrene. There's more than one location for a warp disc in these areas, but they remain the only areas to use the warp discs you buy from Blorto. The easiest of these is commonly agreed to be Upper Valley because the warp spot is directly behind the entry portal and up a hill you can either walk up the path or use Gus's platforms to scale the wall. Just like all warp disc locations, it is marked by a pillar of blue light.

Just walk your way to the area and hit the onscreen prompt to interact. You'll open your inventory and can place any warp disc you've bought. What also makes the hill in Upper Valley useful is that it will reset when you leave back home. That's because if a warp disc is active in another location, the game may not reset that location, and it won't let you use it in a second location. Keep track of all discs if you're using more than one location.

Whichever you pick, just listen to any friendly NPCs or your current Gatlian to find out what challenge is in store for you.
